Testimonials - David
As I approached the door to the church, my fear grew. I really did not want to enter that place. I wasn't a Christian. I was Jewish. What was I doing here?

I looked at my colleague who had brought me to the lunchtime service. He saw my apprehension and smiled reassuringly. I had to take the next step and go in to the church. I'd already avoided it once, I couldn't do it again.

As we went in we were welcomed by the stewards and shown to our seats. The service itself is a far distant memory. I managed to follow everyone else without it being too obvious that I'd never been before and at the end I felt relieved and uplifted.

Some people think that for Jesus to come into their lives there has to be flashes of light and amazing revelations. Well I'm sure that for some people it works like that, but for me it wasn't that instant. It was that Christian colleague at work who had spotted that I had a gap in my life where Jesus should be and had taken the time to lead me to Christ... He was prepared to be with me over the years as I discovered Christ. It took me a few years to accept that Jesus was my Saviour and to comprehend that he had died on the Cross to save me. But then, with my Jewish background, I had to come to terms with what they had said about Him being the Messiah.

The key for me was a book called "Who Moved the Stone?" written by a leading barrister of his day, who had started out to prove in a historical, factual and evidential way that Christ had not risen from the dead. In fact his research convinced him that the story of the resurrection could only be true... The minute I read that book and mulled over that author's conclusion, I found the missing gap in my life - the Lord Jesus.

The fact that Christ had been prepared to die for me was mind-blowing and my life has been enriched so much by Jesus love.
